After all the maintenance work on the 4runner recently, it was nice to finally get out into the hills. Heading up this past Friday to join my pal Travis and a few others for a fun but moody night run over Red Cone. After airing down, we headed up the trail. We were able to keep a good pace with just three rigs. Once above timberline, we had a good view of the weather below. Kenosha Pass seemed to be getting hammered with rain. Pushing hard, we made it to the top of Red Cone around 8pm. After some time soaking in the last of the light and watching a few rigs climb up Radicle Hill in the dark, we headed down for Montezuma. After airing up, it was a bit of a drive to get back to the 4runner in Conifer, then to the cabin. Finally crawling into bed around 12:30am. After a few hours of sleep, woke up to catch the sunrise.
It sure felt good to have the 4runner running great again after a bit of maintenance work!
A typical scene for Colorado in the mountains. Was happy to have the 4runner back and running great.
We turned off 285 just below the start of Kenosha Pass, stopped to air down and continued on to the trail.
