Outlaws Run 2024. Act 1: A night in the Henry’s and a fine drive along Dark Canyon

I’ll be honest, after grabbing the 4runner from storage, it really felt good to be loading it up with gear for a trek west. Past the Floyd Hill construction, I found myself on hwy 24 heading South towards Hanksville with the beloved Henry’s in the distance. At camp, we settled in. Nothing better then friends a warm fire, food and beer. A late but fun night. The next Morning we headed out. At the Sundance trailhead, we turned on a two track and headed for camp. The road bringing us to the edge of Dark Canyon. Once at camp, we found ourselves with some amazing vies of the Little Rockies and the Orange Cliffs. We settled in for another fantastic night around the fire. Solitude is a grand thing.

After loading up, it felt good to finally get out with the 4runner. Even while being stuck in traffic on I-70 due to the Floyd Hill construction.

Always a great to see the Henry’s in the distance.

Nasty Flats.

Another fine morning at one of my favorite camps. Some fall color still on the Aspens.

Grand views of Dark Canyon,

And a bit of wheeling to get to camp.

Back to open roads.

A fine evening sets in.
