We headed down in the early Summer of 2015 to ride and chase the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. The idea for this trip with the club came about during my first time riding the C&TS in the Fall of 2014. Noticing that there was an abundant of dirt roads along the track we thought it would be fun to chase the Cumbres and Toltec while exploring some of those dirt roads.
A few friends from the club joined me for the inaugural run. We camped just above the old track maintenance town of Sublete, chased the C&TS out of Chama the first day, rode the train the second and chased it from the Big Horn “Y” on the last day. It was a most relaxing weekend exploring great country with good friends.
