Snow Pizza Run. January 2006

With some good early snow, we didn’t get very far for this years Snow Pizza Run. Only making it to the “Play Ground” area and a little ways past on the main trail to Yankee Hill. The run had a good turn out and as always, fun to ride along with my pal Scott Yoder while we played in the snow.

Back in the day when we actually had good snow on the front range….

Scott and Rick in there nicely built 3rd gens.

At the cemetery above Central City airing down and chaining up for the day.

Lots of friends and old timers in this pick from the club. Left to right: Treeroot in his FJ40. Dean in his first gen pickup. Steve Crase in his nicely built FJ60. Greg “Cheeseman” Luer and his nicely built FJ60.

Making our way to the upper parking lot.

Chris Hatfield in his old FJ55- “pig” Land-Cruiser.

Riding along with Scott as he breaks trail.

Progress.

Scott busting through the big drift at the turn that takes you to the “playground”

Forgot who this was in the XJ.

Cheeseman.

Cheeseman letting the ruts steer the vehicle.

Miss that pig.

Dean’s turn at the drift.

Matt Farr having way to much fun.

Scott having way to much fun.

Scott busting through the big drift at the playground.

Steve’s turn.

Stuck. Even with the chains.

Scott doing what he does best. Busting through the snow.

We headed towards Yankee Hill proper but the conditions were just to much to make any further progress.

Rick in his 3rd gen.

Steve ended up braking a birfield at this spot. Cheeseman helping him get everything back together. This section of trail always seems to be a tough spot.

Scott getting unstuck.

Neil “Spiderlegs” stuck.

Ige getting Neil unstuck.

End.
