After our hike to Hole in the Wall, we headed over to Outlaw Cave to camp for the night. A fine spot high above the Middle Fork of the Powder River.
Evening sets in.
Doesn’t get much better that this.
Up early for the morning sunrise.
A fine spot to watch the sunrise!
Looking down on the Middle Fork of the Powder River.
Starting the hike down to Outlaw Cave.
Lots of caves at the bottom. Being that this was my first time to Outlaw Cave, I didn’t know what one was he real cave. I’d later find out it is the one to the left in this picture.
Some happy fish in the Middle Fork of the Powder River.
Shawn and I checking out one cave at the bottom of the canyon. This turned out to not be the official Outlaw Cave.
A great spot along the river.
My pal Shawn.
Yours truly. I should have jumped in that water. It looked majorly refreshing.
Back at the campground, had to get a pic of Shawn’s FJ60.
Leaving Hole in the Wall country. A fine spot indeed!
To break up the drive back to Denver, Shawn and I headed to the mountains outside of Wheatland, WY for our last night of camp. The Laramie MTNS( think I got that right), is definitely another place to put on the “to explore list”
Exploring some forest roads looking for camp.
While I was exploring one road, came across this mother Turkey and her chicks.
We stopped to check out an old homestead while searching for camp.
Finally found a decent spot to park the trucks for the night.
Some good views from camp. We watched this big thunderhead dance across the planes for some time.
Even got a little bit of plinkin in before the days light faded away.
End.
