After crossing into Wyoming, we meet up with Wyatt from Rock Springs. From there we headed out towards the Killpecker Sand Dunes. Wyatt took us to a nice secluded camp in a small canyon for the first night. The next morning, we found ourselves firing off a few rounds before heading over to the Killpeckeer Sand Dunes. We checked out the White Mountain Petroglyphs before airing down and diving into the dunes. There’s some four different rock art panels that are over 200 years old at White Mountain.
Once at the Killpecker Sand Dunes, we aired down, locked in and had a blast. Wyatt, our local guide was surprised with how far in we went. The Killpecker Sand Dunes are one of the largest active dune fields in North America. Around 11,000 acres is set aside for OHV.
A fine camp just outside the Killpecker Sand Dunes. We had a lazy morning, even did a bit of plinking, before heading over to the dunes.
A morning walk above camp.
