For this years Outlaws Run, we headed to north eastern Wyoming,and northwestern South Dakota to explore the Black Hills. The main reasons for heading this way, other than great country, was to check out the Town of Sundance, WY, the Sundance Kid spent his first time in jail here, after stealing a horse and saddle. Bella Fourche, SD was a sight of a foiled bank robbery by Kid Curry and a few other Wild Bunch members. Of course, we couldn’t pass up an evening in Deadwood, SD, where Wild Bill Hickok’s life came to an abrupt end.

I’ve been researching a route for this area for some time, but an early winter storm hit the Black Hills and surrounding country hard as we were there. Sundance, WY received 5-8″ of snow while Deadwood, SD got 15″. Despite that, we had a blast and have a better idea for our return visit, whenever that may be.
