Outlaws Run 2019. Act 3: A wild night in Deadwood, SD

Deadwood, SD. After wheeling all day just to get to Spearfish, SD from our camp in the Grand Canyon of Sand Creek, WY, we drove a half hour on pavement to get to Deadwood. The week we were there, Deadwood recieved 15″ os snow. I had planned for us to stay in Deadwood and check out the town. Just didn’t expect the wild night that ensued. Matt Farr had a 75$ bar tab, Chase dragged us to the craps tables at some fancy casino, all the while most of us got to bed around 2am, after starting at 1:30 pm…

Deadwood reminded me a lot of Central City, CO. Right away I took a liking to Deadwood. Can only imagine how busy it can get during the warmer months.

The group, minus Daniel Linn, parked at the north end of downtown Deadwood.

Chase and hi compact car parking.

Kids in a toy store. That had six beers on tap.

They were closed.

Most of the group.

Our hotel for the night.

Around Deadwood.

At the original #10 saloon. Where Wild Bill Hickoc lost his life.

Pretty much sums up the week.

Was a good ale.

Downstairs in the #10 saloon. This was the original location wheer Wild Bill got shot. With all the fires Deadwood has had, they just built on top of the original foundation.

The gang.

At the new #10 saloon. Chase would drag us from here to the local casino for some chaps. We drove Chase back to this bar.

Another group shot.

Live band from Kansas. There dad played with them.

Further along into the night. Don’t remember taking this pic. Though seems we had the whole dance floor in it.

Deadwood at 2am.

Deadwood the next morning. We were slow to get out of bed.

The Homestake mine in Lead, SD. Daniel Linn wanted to stop here for the Neutron experiments they performed at the 4,000+ ft level.

Grave sites of James”Wild BIll” Hickoc and Martha “Calamity Jane” Burke.

Making our way further south into the Black Hills,

Couldn’t pass up a visit to Mt Rushmore while in the Black Hills.

Our last evening in the Black Hills. At a established campground outside the Crazy horse Memorial.
