We headed up to the NW corner of Iceland as we made our way along the Ring Road. It seemed like we were driving into a never ending sunset after leaving Dettifoss- the second most powerful waterfall in Europe. We’d come to learn that only 14% of tourists make it up to the NW Fjords and that its the most sparsely populated region of Iceland.
I fell in love with the NW Fjords. Even though I’m terrified of the Ocean, it was hard to not be taken aback by the beauty of this area. In the short time that we were in the NW Fjords, we saw Artic Foxes, the Northern Lights, a tired old FJ 55 Land Cruiser ( I seemed to be the only one excited about that) and grand vistas of the Fjords. I could see myself going back.
