Argentine Pass is a fun, moderate trail just outside Georgetown, CO. Back when I was the Event Coordinator for the club and working with the Clear Creek Ranger District, I helped to get this as one of the club’s adopt-a-trail. The club had a trail already adopted, but it was all the way out in Gleenwood Springs, CO and seemed that when we did do a clean up day there, it was light on participants.
Since adopting Argentine Pass, we’ve been doing at least one clean up day a year and feel like it’s been making a difference. There’s been times where Brant and the other Rangers were to busy to join us, gave us there tools and said “you know what to do”.
There’s a lot to explore on this trail, from the 13,207ft Argentine Pass and the old line of the Argentine Central to the top of Mclellan MT (13,587). Waldorf (once claiming to have the highest post office in the world) and the Santiago mill provide a glimpse into the old mining days.
I’ll continue to update this page as I make progress editing past trips.
