With a total of 16 rigs and good wintery conditions, the 2018 Snow and Pizza Run was a blast. I rode up with my good pal Treeroot to be able to take pics. Treeroot and Dane were able to make it past the playground about a mile or so before getting stuck and forced to turn around. After some of the group spent some time at the playground busting through the big drift, with Scott and Treeroot putting on a good show. After a fun filled day, we headed back down the hill and over to Idaho Springs for Pizza at Beau Joe’s. Always a fun day on Yankee Hill playing in the Snow with the club:).
Airing down at the cemetery above Central City.
This hill always seems to fight the group no matter the conditions.
Treeroot pulling Dane. Dane pulling the 2nd gen 4runner.
Treeroot watching on.
Treeroot winching the 2nd gen 4runner up the hill right before the second parking lot.
We’d use the traction boards a lot this day.
At the second parking lot.
Dane making his way up the hill past the second parking lot.
Treeroot taking in the views.
Treeroot and papa root.
A chained up FJ60 giving it a go.
Kurt and his FJ40 stuck. This section would fight a few folks.
Treeroot pulling Kurt out.
Alex got a bit close to the tree. But with some traction boards and a tug, he was out.
Some good views as we near the playground.
About a mile past the playground, Treeroot got stuck. Dane was able to pull him out after a few attempts.
Back at the playground. Scott was first to attempt the big drift.
Gave it a good go.
Treeroots turn.
Heading back down.
End.
