After missing out on riding the Cumbers and Toltec in 2020 due to Covid-19, it felt great to get back down to the Southern end of the San Luis Valley and ride and chase the train with friends from the club. We camped at our usual spot above Sublette, NM. Since we were there in early June, they were still running a cut back schedule thanks to Covid. But it was fun to change things up a bit- we rode the train from Antonito to Osier and back to Antonito. On Friday, we chased the train from Whiplash Curve to Osier then back to Sublette. Saturday we chased the train through the Chama Valley, then Apache Canyon to Osier before getting back to camp above Sublette.
I absolutely love the Chama Valley in the fall time, but it was wonderful to be able to hang out with good company and enjoy the nice summer weather.
