I’ll be honest, after missing Cruise Moab last year (our 2020 event was canceled due to Covid-19), it felt really, really good to get out in the desert and hang out with long time friends. Our event this year was a bit different than past years, as restrictions were still in place to help fight off Covid-19. We couldn’t do our Vendor Night on Thursday and canceled the big dinner and raffle that we always have on Friday night. Yet, even with those changes, it was a great Cruise Moab ( a big thanks to everyone on the committee for making it happen!!). Moving the event down to Spanish Trails- we had always been based out of Slick Rock Campground, not the best place to be, was a great decision. The arena provided a great spot for everyone to hang out a after the trail rides and still be socially distant, it also gave us a great spot to base camp for the whole event ( and shelter from the downpour Thursday night). AS we continue to move out of Covid restrictions, feel this change of venue will be a wonderful spot.
To kick off the week. I meet up with a few friends four our “Pre Cruise Moab Wandering’s”. It was fun to get back to Beef Basin and the Lockhart Basin trail, Where these wanderings began some 11 years ago. No better way to kick off the wheeling season than a week out in the desert with long time friends.
