Taking in the morning views before heading out for the day.
Good views of Capital Reef.
Bull Mountain.
Looking East towards Robbers Root country.
An old miners cabin next to Crescent Creek.
Was still in good shape back in 2010.
Checking out some old mines near the cabin.
Little Egypt Geological area. Always reminds me of Goblin Valley.
Explored Temple Mountain area, on the southern end of the San Rafael Swell for a little bit on the way home.
Always a fun stretch of road.
Some of the buildings around Temple Mountain.
Temple Mountain.
MOst of the mines are closed off in Temple Mountain.
Sean hadn’t seen Sego Canyon yet, so we pulled off at Thompson Springs and headed into the canyon. We got all the way to the end, a first for me, where we had good views of the La Sal Mountains.
The road ends at the Indian Reservation, so we turned around and continued on towards Colorado.
We made it to Rabbit Valley, just across the state line for our last nights camp.
We camped on a overlook with a fine view of the valley.
Not a bad way to wake up!
We explored a little bit more of Rabbit Valley on our last day before heading back home.
We were able to make it down to the Colorado River.
End.
