Henry Mountains, Summer 2009. Act 3: 4th of July fun in Hanksville, UT

Knowing Hanksville was having some 4th of July celebrations, I headed out out of the Henry’s on the 4th with the plan to stay in town for my last night of the trip.

Quiet the sunrise for my last morning in the Henry’s!

Another beautiful day.

Bull Mountain.

Heading down Bull Creek Pass towards Highway 95.

What’s left of Eagle City. Once totaling around a 100 people, Eagle City had a store, hotel, doctor’s office and a saloon. Eagle City was known as a tough place, and some members of the “Wild Bunch” frequented the town.

Bull Mountain again.

Checking out some old cabins further along on Crescent Creek.

Little Egypt Geological area.

Back in Hanksville, I had to check out the fording of the Fremont River. We attempted this fording back in ’08 with no luck. During this trip, it was a easy and smooth crossing.

One of the activities for the 4th of July celebration in town was a mud bog. Fun to watch.

Storm passing through town.

Out for an evening walk through town.

Looking back at the Henry’s.

First attempt at night time photography as well as fireworks. Sorry for all the bad pixels in the pics.
